The tablets contain acetylsalicylic acid from the group of non-steroidal anti-rheumatic drugs. Polopyrin S can be used for mild and moderate pain of various origins, as well as for fever during colds or flu.
The medicine should be taken orally, preferably with or after food, with a sufficient amount of liquid. The tablet can also be dissolved in a glass of water or milk before use. The lowest possible effective dose should be used.
Usually the recommended dosage is:
• Analgesic and antipyretic: Adults: 300 to 600 mg (1 to 2 tablets) every 4 hours. Do not take more than 3 g of the active substance per day. Adolescents over 16 years: 600 mg to 900 mg (2 to 3 tablets) daily.
• In rheumatic diseases only on the recommendation of a doctor: In rheumatic fever: 900 mg (3 tablets) 4 times a day; for rheumatoid arthritis: 600 mg (2 tablets) 3 to 4 times a day.
• Myocardial infarction, prophylaxis of myocardial infarction: from 150 mg to 300 mg (from ? to 1 tablet) daily.
