Proktosedon is a drug for use in hemorrhoidal disease (external hemorrhoids, internal hemorrhoids) accompanied by acute or chronic inflammation, pain, itching and bleeding.
Proctosedon has multidirectional effects due to the composition of active substances. Hydrocortisone has an anti-inflammatory effect, cinchocaine has a local anesthetic, neomycin – a type of antibiotic with a broad antibacterial spectrum (prevents secondary infections and treats infections caused by staphylococci and Gram-negative bacteria sensitive to its action), esculin reduces swelling and stops vascular bleeding. The active substances are responsible for reducing inflammation, pain, itching and bleeding.
