To support smoking cessation in nicotine dependence by relieving nicotine withdrawal symptoms, including cravings, or for temporarily reducing cigarette consumption in smokers who are motivated to quit smoking. Ultimately, the goal is to quit smoking permanently. The 2 mg strength is suitable for severe withdrawal symptoms. Counseling and patient care usually increase success rates.
