Dosage and method of administration
Adults and adolescents over 16 years of age and weighing more than 50 kg.
Dissolve the contents of one sachet in a glass of water (250 ml of hot, but not boiling water). Stir until dissolved and drink the clear, lemon-menthol flavored solution.
The dose can be repeated every 4–6 hours. Do not take more than 4 sachets within 24 hours.
Contraindications
Do not take Cafetin ColdMax.
if you are allergic to paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
if you have severe coronary heart disease;
if you have high blood pressure;
if you have glaucoma (an eye disease often associated with increased fluid pressure in the eye);
if your thyroid gland is overactive (hyperthyroidism); if you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants or have taken them in the last 14 days.
Special Instructions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Cafetin ColdMax.
if you have diabetes, a condition associated with high blood sugar levels;
if you suffer from moderate or severe kidney failure; if you suffer from liver dysfunction;
mild to moderate hepatic cell failure (including Gilbert’s syndrome), severe liver failure, acute hepatitis and concomitant treatment with drugs that affect liver function;
if you suffer from Raynaud’s syndrome, a condition caused by poor circulation in the fingers and toes;
if you have haemolytic anemia (a low number of red blood cells, which can make the skin appear pale yellow and cause weakness or shortness of breath);
if you suffer from dehydration;
if you abuse alcohol;
if you suffer from glutathione depletion due to metabolic problems;
if you have asthma and are hypersensitive to acetylsalicylic acid (for pain relief or blood thinning). You may also have a sensitivity to ColdMax Caffetin.
Active Ingredients
Contains: paracetamol 1000 mg and phenylephrine hydrochloride 12.2 mg (equivalent to phenylephrine (base) 10.0 mg).
