Gaviscon Mentha Liquid is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux such as acid belching, heartburn and indigestion. Heartburn can occur after eating, during pregnancy, or in patients with symptoms related to inflammation of the esophageal wall.
Gaviscon Liquid belongs to a group of drugs called “reflux suppressors”, which quickly (in 3 minutes) form a protective layer on the surface of the stomach contents for up to 4 hours. This layer prevents stomach acid from leaking from the stomach into the esophagus, thereby relieving the burning sensation of stomach acid and discomfort in the throat and mouth.
